A tech services company in Texas is currently seeking a new Technical Writer to join their growing team in Carrolton.
***This is an onsite role.***
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain baseline product documentation, including engineering specifications, design descriptions, database documentation, end-user operator/administrator manuals, online help documentation, test plans/descriptions, etc.
- Work with Engineers and other technical personnel to clarify technical document contents
- Research and analyze developments in assigned products and services to determine the need for revisions in previously published technical materials and for the development of new materials
- Act as a liaison with Product Developers, engineers, and other Technical experts and observe production methods
- Refer to technical specifications, drawings, engineering illustrations, and trade journals to acquire knowledge needed to develop technical publications.
- Perform technical editing and quality reviews of submittal documentation
- Manage document storage and revisions, including quality records
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related experience
- Solid knowledge of Technical Writing standards, Documentation Process, and the System/software engineering process.
- Working knowledge of developing software / system manuals
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience with MadCap Flare and Adobe FrameMaker
- Experience with IBM Doors Next Gen, IBM ETM and IBM RPE
- Experience with Jama Connect for Requirements platform
